Here’s an example of what this could look like. A family-owned trucking company could contact us to renew their commercial auto and cargo insurance. Six trucks, two drivers short and a brand new contract hauling freight for a big box retailer. We understand this can be overwhelming for some.
The trucking owner could have landed a new contract running loads but they don’t get paid for 60 days. They have drivers get paid every Friday and their fuel card won’t wait. With $240,000 in invoices sitting out there and nothing in the bank, they know the revenue will be coming in but the timing isn’t ideal.
That kind of squeeze is why we built a partnership with ROK Financial. A business owner in that spot can use Accounts Receivable financing to turn those unpaid invoices into working cash, sometimes in as little as 2 days. No extra collateral. No waiting 60 days for the retailer to cut a check.
This owner could keep their trucks on the road. The insurance would keep their fleet protected and the financing would keep their doors open.

Types of Small Business Financing Available
Here are all the business loan options you can access through our ROK Financial partnership. The right product depends on what you need the money for, how much revenue your business generates and how much time you have to get funded.
Equipment Financing
This is the loan the BEAD contractor used. Equipment financing lets you buy or lease almost any physical business asset, including machinery, work trucks, medical equipment, office furniture, restaurant appliances, computers and specialty tools. The equipment itself usually acts as the collateral, so you often don’t need to put other assets on the line.
Key details:
– No minimum time in business required
– No minimum revenue required
– FICO starting at 580 (varies based on equipment type)
– Funding in as little as 2 days
– Low or no down payment options
– 1 to 5 year terms
– Loan amounts up to $5 million
A tax note worth reading: Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed in July 2025, you may be able to deduct 100% of qualifying equipment costs in year one. Scroll down for more on that.
Working Capital Loans
Working capital loans give you short-term cash to cover everyday business expenses like payroll, rent, inventory and utilities. This is the product most small business owners reach for when they hit a seasonal slow patch or land a big contract and need to staff up fast.
Key details:
– 4+ months in business
– $10,000 or more in monthly sales
– No minimum FICO score
– Same-day funding available
– Loan amounts up to $5 million
– Terms up to 10 years
– No collateral required
– No limits on how you use the funds
Accounts Receivable (AR) and Purchase Order Financing
If your business has money tied up in unpaid invoices or a stack of purchase orders you can’t fulfill without more cash, AR and PO financing gets you the working capital now. You sell or pledge your outstanding invoices in exchange for fast cash. This is common in trucking, manufacturing, wholesale and government contracting, where 30, 60 or 90 day payment cycles are the norm.
Key details:
– $500,000 or more in annual sales
– Aging A/R report required
– No minimum FICO score
– Funding in as little as 2 days
– Lower interest rates than many alternatives
– Up to 10 year terms
– No extra collateral needed beyond the invoices themselves
SBA Loans
SBA loans are backed by the U.S. Small Business Administration, which lets lenders offer lower rates and longer repayment periods than they could on their own. These loans take longer to close but for established businesses planning a major purchase or expansion, the savings add up. SBA 7(a) loans are the most common. SBA 504 loans are built for real estate and large equipment purchases.
Key details:
– 2+ years in business
– $120,000 or more in annual sales
– FICO 675+
– Approved in 24 to 48 hours
– Funded in 30 to 45 days
– Loan amounts up to $5 million
– Terms up to 25 years
– Can be used to refinance existing business debt
Documents you’ll need: signed application, 6 months of business bank statements, SBA questionnaire, business debt schedule, 3 years of personal and business tax returns, prior year plus year-to-date P&L and balance sheet.
Business Line of Credit
A business line of credit works a lot like a credit card but with higher limits and lower rates. You only pay interest on what you actually use. When you pay it back, the credit becomes available again. This is the go-to product for cash flow management, payroll gaps, unexpected repairs and short-term opportunities.
Key details:
– 6+ months in business
– $10,000 or more in monthly sales
– FICO 600+
– Same-day funding available
– Credit lines up to $5 million
– Interest only on the amount you draw
– Revolving credit, so it refills as you pay it down
Term Loans
Term loans give you a lump sum upfront that you pay back in fixed monthly installments over a set period. These work best for one-time purchases like a buyout, a location expansion or a large renovation. You know what you owe, what your payment is and when you’ll be done paying.
Key details:
– 2+ years in business
– $10,000 or more in monthly sales
– FICO 660+
– Funding in as little as 1 to 3 days
– Fixed or variable rates
– No prepayment penalties
– Monthly payments
Commercial Real Estate Financing
Commercial real estate loans help you buy, refinance or renovate income-producing property like office buildings, warehouses, retail storefronts and industrial space. This is also the product your business needs if you want to stop renting and own the building you already work out of.
Key details:
– FICO 650+
– Down payment required
– Property documentation needed
– Funding in 25 to 40 days
– Loan amounts from $250,000 to $10 million
– Terms from 10 to 30 years
Merchant Cash Advance and Working Capital Alternatives
If your business takes a lot of credit card payments, a merchant cash advance lets you borrow against your future sales. ROK also offers smarter working capital alternatives with more predictable repayment for business owners who want to avoid the daily debit style of a traditional MCA. Restaurants, retail shops and auto repair businesses often use these.
Franchise Financing
Franchise financing gives you capital to buy into a franchise, open a new location or expand the one you own. It covers franchise fees, build-out costs, equipment, signage and working capital.
Key details:
– 6+ months in business
– $10,000 or more in monthly sales
– No minimum FICO score
– Funding in as little as 2 days
– Up to $5 million
– Terms up to 10 years
Startup Business Funding
If your business is under 2 years old, startup funding combines several products into one application. Equipment financing (no time in business required), SBA microloans and revenue-based funding for businesses with at least 4 to 6 months of deposits all fit here.
Residential Investment Property and Fix-and-Flip Financing
Real estate investors use this to buy, renovate and sell properties. Fix-and-flip loans fund most of the purchase price plus the full cost of rehab, so you keep your own cash free for the next deal.
Key details:
– FICO 680+
– 3 successful flips in the last 36 months for fix-and-flip
– Rates starting at 8.99%
– Funding 80% of purchase and 100% of rehab costs
– 1 to 4 unit properties
– Monthly payments
Middle Market Lending
For larger, more established businesses with more complex capital needs, middle market lending offers custom-structured financing that doesn’t fit cleanly into any standard box.

The 2026 Tax Break You Shouldn’t Miss
This is a big one and it’s tied directly to equipment financing.
On July 4, 2025, the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) was signed into law. It brought back 100% bonus depreciation and made it permanent. If you buy qualifying equipment and put it to work after January 19, 2025, you may be able to write off the full purchase price in year one, even if you financed the equipment instead of paying cash.
What this looks like in real numbers:
– Buy a $50,000 trencher, potentially deduct the full $50,000 this tax year
– Finance it through ROK, you may still get the full deduction
– Works for machinery, work trucks, computers, office furniture and certain building improvements with a useful life of 20 years or less
– Section 179 expensing limit also went up to $2.5 million
Disclaimer: We are an insurance and bond agency, not a CPA firm. Tax rules around bonus depreciation, Section 179, state conformity and business structure vary. Please talk to your tax professional before making equipment purchases based on a tax strategy. The information here is general and current as of the OBBBA signing and IRS Notice 2026-11. By using our partner link with ROK, we may receive a commission if your loan is funded but it won’t cost you anything extra.

How to Apply for Small Business Financing

Frequently Asked Questions
What is small business financing?
Small business financing is any kind of borrowed money a business uses to cover costs, buy equipment, expand or manage cash flow. It includes bank loans, SBA loans, equipment financing, working capital loans, lines of credit, merchant cash advances and accounts receivable financing.
How much small business financing can I qualify for?
Through our ROK Financial partnership, loan amounts range from $10,000 to $5 million for most products but much larger amounts are possible. Commercial real estate can go up to $10 million. The amount you qualify for depends on your monthly revenue, time in business, credit profile and the specific loan type.
What credit score do I need for a small business loan?
Several products have no minimum FICO at all, including working capital loans, accounts receivable financing and franchise financing. Equipment financing starts at 580, business lines of credit at 600, term loans at 660 and SBA loans at 675.
How fast can I get funded?
Working capital loans and business lines of credit can fund the same business day. Term loans fund in 1 to 3 business days. Equipment, AR and franchise financing fund in as little as 2 days. SBA loans take 30 to 45 days because of the government underwriting involved.
Do I need collateral for a small business loan?
Many products don’t require extra collateral, including working capital loans, lines of credit, merchant cash advances and AR financing. Equipment financing uses the equipment itself as collateral. SBA loans, commercial real estate and larger term loans may require collateral or a personal guarantee.
Can I get small business financing if I’m a startup?
Yes. Equipment financing has no minimum time in business. Revenue-based funding works for businesses with at least 4 to 6 months of deposits. SBA microloans also fund startups.
What can I use small business financing for?
Most products have no restrictions on how you use the funds. Common uses: payroll, rent, inventory, marketing, equipment, expansion, hiring, refinancing, tax payments, seasonal cash flow and acquiring another business.
How long does the application take?
About 15 seconds to start. A Business Financing Advisor then contacts you to go over your options and request any supporting documents.
Can I deduct 100% of equipment I finance this year?
Under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act signed July 4, 2025, qualifying equipment bought and put in service after January 19, 2025 may be eligible for 100% first-year bonus depreciation, even if financed. Please confirm with your CPA, since rules vary by equipment type, state and business structure.
What’s the difference between a line of credit and a term loan?
A term loan is a lump sum paid back in fixed monthly installments over a set period. Best for one-time expenses. A line of credit is revolving, so you draw what you need, pay interest only on what you use and the credit refills as you pay it back. Best for cash flow management and ongoing needs.
Does Strive Insurance Group make the loans?
No. Strive is a business insurance and surety bond agency. Our clients get access to small business financing through our partnership with ROK Financial, which is the lender. We make the introduction. ROK handles the funding.
